![]() TL DR: Seagate should just stick to hard drives should I try to fix their broken program, or should I just use something else?ĮDIT2: Windows Backup worked fine overnight. Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1.5TB. Suggestions are still appreciated, but if the backup completes successfully, I'll just mark this as solved. This whole thing might have just fixed itself. Maybe this is also why Seagate Dashboard is borked? EDIT: I am currently trying to use Windows Backup, and it seems to be working. Windows Backup is out of the question, unfortunately I run a dual boot system with openSUSE, and for some reason Windows Backup does NOT like the fact GRUB is on my drive. The drive appears simply as a normal hard drive, so there shouldn't be any issues using a generic backup program. So, I'm asking for either help fixing this program, or just a robust, free, alternative. I went through the official Seagate error fix I found here, and still nothing. I've looked up a bunch of stuff regarding this (Google-fu'd "Initial job pending Seagate"), and found some stuff regarding the task scheduler. ![]() For its dimensions, it measures 14 x 13 x 5 centimetres, and it weighs a total of 200g. When it comes to its storage capacity, it’s a total of 4TB, which is large enough for media files. ![]() The hard drive's activity light isn't doing anything, and none of my files actually appear within the drive. The Seagate Backup Plus Portable is a 2.5-inch external USB hard drive. The plan is saved and seemingly starts backing up, but the backup never gets past 3%, and the main screen displays "Initial job pending". ![]() Alright, so I just got this Seagate 1.5 TB external hard drive in order to backup stuff, plugged it in, installed the Seagate Dashboard program, and tried to set up a backup plan.
